About Michael Preston

Michael Preston is a Program Officer for Technology at New Visions for Public Schools, New York City's largest education-reform organization. New Visions for Public Schools works with the New York City school system, the private sector and the community to mobilize resources and develop programs and policies that lead to significant, lasting improvement in the achievement of all children. New Visions and its partners take the most direct route to change by working in the classroom, where learning happens, to shape programs that address the fundamental needs of teachers and students

An East Asian Studies major while at Harvard College, Michael speaks Japanese and a little Chinese, though both language abilities are fading fast. He is also the guitarist in the groove band SHAGG, which plays in little joints all over New York City.
